Infinity were humbled to have been invited back to the (so far unique) Great North Big Band Jazz Festival in Durham, and it is safe to say the atmosphere was buzzing!
It wouldn’t have been the GNBB Jazz Festival without seeing friends from across the UK (whom we hope to see year on year!); there was even merchandise for sale, not to mention a chance to sneak in a cheeky pint in between acts!
This year, Infinity sounded better than ever, with proof in the pudding with wonderful remarks from adjudicators, Mick Donners and Adrian Tilbrook. (See pictures).
After our performance in the morning we were then treated to some outstanding performances and playing, not least from overall winners, The Manager’s Big Band.
The latter scooped a further 2 awards, including best drummer (Alan Taylor), as well the Special Award for a cracking clarinet solo by Emily Burkhardt.
We were blown away by their playing, and look forward to seeing them in future gigs in and around the North West!
