Infinity were humbled to have been invited back to the (so far unique) Great North Big Band Jazz Festival in Durham, and it is safe to say the atmosphere was buzzing!

It wouldn’t have been the GNBB Jazz Festival without seeing friends from across the UK (whom we hope to see year on year!); there was even merchandise for sale, not to mention a chance to sneak in a cheeky pint in between acts!

This year, Infinity sounded better than ever, with proof in the pudding with wonderful remarks from adjudicators, Mick Donners and Adrian Tilbrook. (See pictures).

After our performance in the morning we were then treated to some outstanding performances and playing, not least from overall winners, The Manager’s Big Band.

The latter scooped a further 2 awards, including best drummer (Alan Taylor), as well the Special Award for a cracking clarinet solo by Emily Burkhardt.

We were blown away by their playing, and look forward to seeing them in future gigs in and around the North West!

A couple of weeks ago we played at The Silverdale Village Institute for their street party. It was a fantastic event with a lovely atomphere. What's even better is that we were able to raise £265.44 for Trekstock. Trekstock is an amazing charity who help to support young people with cancer. This is a charity that the band is particularly insterested in because one of our alto sax players, Josh, is a member of their young person's panal. Follow the link to find out more about Josh's story. Also check out the article below from The Lancaster Guardian.

Our day was made even more special when we were joined on stage by, amazing Tenor Sax player, John Helliwell. We all feel extremely lucky to have had the chance to play alongside such an fantastic player. Hopefully this will be the first of many times that we will see special guests performing with The Infinity Jazz Orchestra.

We had a great time performing two sets at The Thales Family Open Day on the 13th of June. You can now read the review on our new 'Reviews' section of the website and we were very pleased to recieve a lovely letter thanking the band.

Hopefully we will appear at a similar event in the future.
